Alphaeus Hair Salon owner Chris Tizzoni threatened to break the bones of his  former employee, Jaymi Morris, minutes after firing her via a Facebook message. 

The Fair Work Commission ruled Ms Morris’ termination was not due to her unsatisfactory performance.

Commissioner Riordan stated Ms Morris was happy in her job and very keen to manage the new salon at Bomaderry.

“The type of behaviour displayed does not fit within the parameters of an employee trying to undermine their employer,” he ruled.

Mr Tizzoni’s threats were revealed in documents tendered to the court. 

“Come after me weight lifter! I will break you! Your bones I’m talking!” he wrote in a Facebook message.

The court ordered Mr Tizzoni to pay out four weeks of wages plus superannuation.

News the court had ruled in her favour was a great relief to Ms Morris, who has since moved on to a new job in Nowra.

“I just thought it was about time something was done about it,” she said.

“I just thought, ‘Why should he get away with it?’”

In the Facebook chat which spiralled out of control according to court documents, Mr Tizzoni threatened to run Ms Morris out of town.

His taunts failed to intimidate her.

She said she knew of many young hairdressers who are forced to tolerate similar behaviour from employers.

“I’ve worked in other jobs in my time but never experienced this type of drama, I’d have to put it down as the worst,” Ms Morris said.

The Stockland salon has since been permanently closed, and Mr Tizzoni now works in a Vincentia hair salon.

Ms Morris has been inundated with support.

“I could have quit hairdressing so many times now, but this sort of thing makes you a stronger person,” she said.

“I do have a lot of support around me, a lot of clients, and people who want me to succeed.

“I’m stoked to see where the future takes me with hairdressing, I really love it.”

Ms Morris is enjoying the culture of her new workplace.

“Everyone’s really friendly, helps out, encourages everyone else to do their work and turn up,” she said.
