The road will be closed between Myra Vale Road and Bunkers Hill Road, with detours in place via the Princes Highway, Macquarie Pass and the Illawarra Highway.
Motorists should allow up to 40 minutes extra travel time for journeys between Nowra and the Southern Highlands.
Work to improve safety and repair slopes will soon be carried out.
Kiama MP Gareth Ward said that the NSW Government has provided $360,000 for the work as part of its $1.5 billion annual maintenance program.
“Work to improve safety will be carried out as well as repairs to the slopes to ensure the road continues to meet the community’s needs.
“Moss Vale Road is one of the Shoalhaven region’s main thoroughfares so it’s important to ensure it remains safe and accessible to all road users.
“Work is being carried out at night to minimise disruptions to motorists and thanked the community in advance for its patience while the project takes place.
“This project will complement the work recently carried out involving road resurfacing, shoulder widening, installing guardrail as well as replacing drains near Kangaroo Valley Road.”
