Each year the campout, hosted by Owen and Telma Ison on their Terara property, supports a number of local organisations.
This year the Team Shoalhaven, Shoalhaven Superheroes, Noah’s Inclusion Services, 330 Squadron Australian Air Force Cadets, Terara Public School and Life Without Barriers were the recipients of funds raised.
The funds were raised through gate takings, raffles, catering and music event itself.
Owen and Thelma recently presented funds to the groups they support.
“It is probably the biggest gate taking we have ever had,” Mr Ison said.
“As well as bringing country music to the area, the event is all about supporting local organisations and charities and we are proud to be able to do that.”
More than 300 caravans crammed into the Terara property for the March event, which sees the property transformed into its own mini-township, which is affectionately known as “Owie’s World”.
Officially the campout runs from Friday evening through until Sunday afternoon.
But many of the patrons travel from around the country to attend the event and come and stay for around a week.
Events are also staged in the days leading up to the main music acts, which this year attracted 13 different artists and a number of poets.
“We had around 300 vans this year,” Mr Ison said.
“I’m still working on that goal of hosting 400 vans.”
And yes the Terara Country Music Campout will be back again next year, with the event scheduled for April 5-7.
