The Bomaderry Tigers, at Artie Smith Oval, suffered a 16-13-109 to 3-6-24 loss against the Wollongong Lions, while at West Street Oval the Nowra Albatross Demons were drubbed 29-13-187 to 0-2-2 by a red-hot Kiama Power.
Nobody can say that the Vikings did not try but they came up against an opponent in rare form.
Everything clicked for the Power and they left the big-hearted Vikings in their wake.
Francis Walkers, Marco Basaglia, Kerry Redshaw, Cooper Perry, Jakob Ellings and Nathan Darvill played well for the Vikings.
The Tigers started well in the first quarter and went into the break down by just five points (1-3-9 to 2-2-14) but that was as close as the home side got as the Lions were in the mood to hunt down a mass of goals.
Tyler Dunstan, Jake Evans, Connor Clarke, Blake Munilla, Courtney Ward and Andrew Lee were Bomaderry’s best.
