Police are appealing for the public’s help after a 72-year-old man was bashed and robbed in the Nowra CBD on Sunday afternoon.

About 4.30pm (May 13), the man was walking along Berry Street, Nowra, after leaving a nearby supermarket.
As he walked down a pedestrian only path, he was approached by another man, requesting a cigarette.
When the man declined, he was punched several times in the face, causing him to fall and drop his shopping.
His attacker picked up his wallet and other items before fleeing.
The older man walked to Nowra Police Station and reported the incident.
He was taken to Shoalhaven Hospital, suffering facial injuries.
Detectives from South Coast Police District started an investigation and wish to speak with a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
He has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall, with a beard and was last seen wearing a cap.
