The divers from 18 Pacific and regional nations will take part in the major exercise, code named DIVEX 18, in mine countermeasures and regional cooperation through until May 18.
DIVEX 18 focusses on a wide array of activities including the deployment of mine countermeasures (MCM) divers, autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV), live demolitions and mine exploitation activities.
The exercise is based at HMAS Creswell, on t5eh shores of Jervis Bay, the home of the Royal Australian Naval College, the RAN School of Survivability and Ship's Safety.
