There will be art, food, culture and plenty of music!
One of the headliners for the free music concerts happening on both Saturday and Sunday is This Way North, a dynamic two-piece band.
Drummer/vocalist Cat Leahy and guitarist/vocalist Leisha Jungalwalla create a uniquely full, expansive sound that translates effortlessly from the studio to the stage.
The duo play with more passion and energy than a 10-piece band, drumming up a contagious euphoria. They will be performing on Saturday along with Kenny Bartley, local songwriter RJ Ferry, alternative indie roots singer Chloe Dadd, Psychedelic Summer Guitar Pop Kava Kings and The Groove.
The Mothers Day gig on Sunday will see lots of young locals hit the stage starting with 14-year-old singer/songwriter Joe Visser (April 2017 winner of Shoalhaven Unearthed) at 10am.
Luci Blue is a 16-year-old local who likes to strum out tunes on her grandpa’s guitar. Her voice is soft and emotive, with lyrics drawing from personal experiences and the natural world.
Rani’s Fire hit the stage in late 2008, folk-esque sound with a twist, in 2010 the album From the Left Side was released, and recruiting drummer, bassist and guitarist has brought Rani’s to a new sound. If you like a bit of innocence mixed with cheeky fun then Rani’s is the relaxing sound for you!
Sound of Koko features Kachina with her own unique style of funk, soul, hip hop and tribal fusion, mixing her native american indian roots with Afro-American soulful sounds.
Roses in Hand is a musical duo consisting of the talented vocalist, Jessica Allen and the musical mastermind, Sam Burrell captivating the audience with their interactive energy. The pair joined forces in late 2014 and have been whipping local music scenes and fans into a frenzy ever since.
The Groove is a new fusion of old sounds emerging from the Illawarra and Shoalhaven. An amorphous shifting blend of Spanish and acoustic guitar vibes with driving percussive rhythms.
