Detectives arrested the man just after 8am at a property at Basin View on Tuesday (May 8).
The strike force was formed by the Nepean Police Area Command in late 2016 to investigate a series of complaints referred by the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
Its inquiries centre on allegations of child sexual assaults that occurred at the Daruk Training School at Berkshire Park, near Windsor, between 1965 and 1985.
Following months of painstaking investigations, detectives travelled to the South Coast to arrest the man.
The former youth officer has been taken to the Nowra Police Station and inquiries are continuing.
It is the third arrest in as many months for strike force detectives.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000
