“The horrific holiday-season crashes along the Princes Highway served as an unwanted reminder that the section of the highway south of Jervis Bay is in urgent need of upgrade,” Mr Trumper said.
“NRMA’s own research shows that the Princes Highway, the lifeline to the South Coast, tells a tale of two roads. Considerable work has been done to the highway north of Jervis Bay and this has resulted in a dramatic fall in injury and fatality crashes. This work has literally saved lives. The NRMA strongly supports Fairfax Media’s Fix It Now campaign to see the Princes Highway south of Jervis Bay upgraded to an acceptable and safe standard.
“We urge the Australian and NSW Governments to work together to get the job done now.”
