Day, who now trains with the Surfers Paradise SLSC, claimed the silver medal in the open male ironman – finishing behind Manly’s Kendrick Louis and ahead of Northcliffe’s Shannon Eckstein.
This was one of two silver medals that Day claimed in Western Australia, as he teamed up with Max Beattie and Trevor Hendy to finish second in the open male board relay behind Northcliffe.
The final medal that Day claimed was a bronze in the open male surf team – working with club mates Nathan Gray, Adam Simpson and Max Beattie, to finish behind Northcliffe and Newport.
Day also finished sixth in the open male surf race, with Noosa Heads’ Nicholas Sloman taking line honours.
Also competing at the titles was Day’s Surfers Paradise club mate Kirsty Higgison – a Nowra-Culburra SLSC product.
Higgison reached the semi-finals of the open female single ski, as well as the quarter-finals of the open female board race.
