The get together attracted 28 members and friends from part of NSW, Queensland, New Zealand, Tasmania and Victoria.
Member of the league, Geoff Cochrane, hosted the AGM at ‘Mt Joy’ at Wogamia on Monday, April 9 following a morning of bullock driving and exchanging yarns.
Queensland’s Philip Thomson was elected “chief teamster“ or president, for the next 12-months with the 2019 convention to be held in his area.
A whip-cracking competition was also held in conjunction with the gathering, with Brian Searl taking out this year’s title.
During the week long festivities some of the outings included a working bullock day at Ron McKinnon’s Tomerong property, a Big Foot ride up Coolangatta Mountain, a tour around Fitzroy and Belmore Falls, a visit to Caleb Graham’s Goat Dairy at Falls Creek, and inspection of Gary Nelson’s Museum at Falls Creek and a day at John Quick’s beautiful farm in Kangaroo Valley beneath Belmore Falls.
