A total of 87 men’s shed representatives from around the region attended the event.
Melissa White and Liz McDonald, from the Australian Men’s Shed Association, came down from Newcastle and zone coordinator Alex Paton also attended.
The Albion Park, Berry, Culburra/Orient Point, Kiama, Murramarang, Nowra, Sanctuary Point, Shoalhaven, West Nowra, Milton, Ulladulla, Veterans and Community Shed, Gerringong and Greenwell Point men’s sheds all had representatives at the event.
The conference gave people the chance to exchange ideas and many topics were tabled on the day.
The topics included: obtaining grants, training members, safety within the shed, the welfare of workers, working with NDIS and construction of a shed and the pitfalls.
A number of people talked about these topics and the standard of the talks was high.
It’s planned to hold a similar conference in six months at the Murramarang.
