NSW Ambulance duty operations manager Illawarra Chris Lahene told the Times that “apparently a vehicle has come out of Boree Street car park, striking an 84-year-old man, and then continued on into the building”.
The man was transported to Milton helipad where South Care Rescue Helicopter 202 was waiting with a trauma doctor and paramedic.
“In the process of stabilising his condition he deteriorated and despite everyone’s best efforts, unfortunately he passed away,” Lahene said.
A NSW Police media spokesperson said Police are investigating after a man died in Ulladulla.
Police media said the man has not been formally identified yet.
“The driver of a Ford Festiva sedan, a woman believed to be aged in her 80s, was taken to Milton Hospital in a stable condition and will undergo mandatory testing,” a spokesperson said in a media release.
“Officers from South Coast Police District established a crime scene and the Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.”
About 9.20am, emergency services were called to the scene following reports a car had crashed into a medical centre.
Two Fire and Rescue NSW crews from Ulladulla also attended the incident and by 9.47am all persons had been removed from vehicles.
The vehicle remains in the medical and professional centre next to Coles and the building is to be assessed, a Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said.
