With a four try first half, including a double from Sarah Riordan, Queensland never really looked threatened at home and while some discipline issues were still evident, they were ultimately always in control.
“We had a game plan going in – our own personal game plan - with the way we wanted to play, a style and tempo we wanted to play,” Hayes said.
“Each week we focus on another point that will improve our game and this weekend it was about dominance at the set piece.”
“What we’re trying to look at is to make the girls a little smarter about what they do on the field – increase the intelligence factor.
“That’s what we are really trying to push in the program with Buildcorp Super W because it’s a campaign, it’s not a National Championships where the competition is all over in one weekend.
For the Rebels women it was another big defeat on the scoreboard.
“The impacts were there today and I thought we showed some really good improvement,” Melbourne Rebels women head coach Alana Thomas said.
“It’s something that will just come with experience and something where you can’t put old heads on young shoulders.
“We’ve got a couple of 18-year old’s in our front row and so it just comes with experience and having game time.
The win for the undefeated NSW team, which includes Vincentia’s Ashleigh Hewson, ensures their place in the final to be played on April 21.
With NSW set to enjoy the bye across the Easter weekend, round four is shaping up to be crucial in the run to the final for the other four teams.
Queensland, who have the bye in the final round, have two wins from three while the Force have one win from two so the clash between the sides next week is a must win for both teams.
