Trained by Shoalhaven Heads’ Terry Robinson, the horse had finished in the top four on three occasions in Tab Highway races this preparation.
After jumping well from barrier six, the four-year-old gelding showed early speed to find a handy position on the pace and settled well for jockey Jason Collett, who eased the horse off the fence on the turn before finishing with a convincing two length win.
It is the sixth Tab Highway victory for Robinson since the series, which enables country-trained horses to be included in Sydney Saturday meetings, was introduced in 2016, having won with Rose of Man (2), Kings Officer (2) and Grand Rouge (1).
Fui San’s win puts Robinson in fourth place on the list of trainers by number of wins in the Highway series, with Matthew Dunn (Murwillumbah) leading the charge.
