Known as the top Indigenous Sevens competition in the country, this was the second straight year that four of the Kings had won the competition – with last year’s title coming with the Knightriders.
The Kings opened the tournament with a big 40-point win against Polikan, before defeating Bourke 26-14 in their second clash.
Their undefeated run continued, as they defeated Bowraville by 30 points, to finish first in their pool.
In the quarter-finals, the Kinds defeated Budhalung by 20 before edging past the Skindogs by four points in the semi-final.
This set up a final showdown with Bourke, who they had already defeated, but this time was a lot closer, with the Kings winning by one point, to claim the title.
“We played awesome all tournament and played for each other in each game,” Steve Brandon said.
“It's a family team, so means a lot to win it with my cousins brothers and other family members – with captain Mark Brandon and coach Dillan Walker doing great jobs.
“While we did win the competition last year, it was a lot stronger this time around.”
Squad: Mark Brandon, Steven Brandon, Elliot Stewart, Greg Davis, Scott Webb, Jake Webb, Joel Tubbs, Wilson Bennett, Dillan Walker, Andrew Walker, Mitch Whitely and Darcy Trindall.
