Announced during the week, South Coast Dairy, produced by the Berry Rural Co-operative Society Limited, secured golds for its lite and full creamed milks, a silver for its skim and non-homogenised milks and bronze for its cream.
South Coast Dairy also produces a range of products for Harris Farm Markets and also received gold medals for its Pure Pastures Fat Reduced Jersey Milk and Pure Pastures Non-homogenised Jersey Milk, silvers for the Pure Pastures Full Cream Jersey Milk, Pure Pastures Skim Jersey Milk and Pure Pastures Jersey Pure Cream.
This latest success follows on from South Coast Dairy being a finalist in the Australian Grand Dairy Awards for its non-homogenised milk.
Berry Rural Co-operative Society Limited general manager Kara Duncan said the co-operative was “stoked” with its latest success.
“They are great results following on from the Australian Grand Dairy Awards and just rewards for all the hard work that has gone into firstly establishing South Coast Dairy, getting its processing plant off the ground and then getting its products out into the marketplace.

“It’s great recognition for our whole team - for our farmers, our suppliers, who are up each morning at 4am, our production and processing team and our marketing group.
“These are the types of results we are after and a real pat on the back for everyone involved.”
Chairman John Miller and vice-chairman Steve King were present at the awards, with Mrs Duncan saying it was great for them to be able to enjoy the success.
“They were both here 10 years ago, sitting in the boardroom making the decisions to set up South Coast Dairy and have our own processing plant, so it was great they were able to be there when the business was recognised,” she said.
She said it points to what could be a big year for South Coast Dairy, with an exciting range of new products set to come online in coming months, including flavoured milk.
South Coast Dairy will be releasing coffee, strawberry and chocolate flavoured milk and also hopes to bring to market butter.
The plant processes around 50,000 litres per week and not only produces South Coast Milk but also Harris Farm’s Jersey Pure Pastures range.
Meanwhile, Unicorn Cheese at South Nowra also tasted success with two silver medals and 12 bronze medals in the cheese section.
The company gained silvers for its Flinders Estate Ash Brie and Unicorn Classic Camembert and a host of bronze medals for variety of Brie and Camembert entries.
