After winning the toss, the Tigers finished the day at 5/275 on day one – still with 19 overs to bat on day two.
The star of the day was Tyrone Johnston, who scored 113 not out, while be supported by Matt Guyatt (45) and Robert Mirabito (35 not out).
Sussex’s best bowlers were Deklin Matson (2/35) and Jake Town (2/37).
At Ray Abood Village Green, Bay and Basin were sent in by Berry-Shoalhaven Heads and posted a total of 117 – with Riley Matthews (28) the top scorer.
Brad Page was the chief destroyer for Berry, claiming 6/31, as Cooper Bramley chipped in 2/9.
In reply, Berry are in a strong position, again thanks to Brad Page, who remains unbeaten on 52 not out.
Page and his son Christian (19 not out) will resume at 0/88 on day two.
At Lyrebird Sports Park, North Nowra-Cambewarra posted the big total of 247 against Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemens.
Jack Walsh led the way for Norths with 93, while Brett Mark contributed 33.
With the ball, Ex-Servos best were Craig Howsan (4/27) and Luke Hopper (3/30).
Finally, at Frogs Hollow, Nowra chose to bat first against Ulladulla United and declared at 7/194 – with Mitchell Smith (52) top scoring.
Paul Pinches (2/20) was the only multiple wicket taker for United.
The hosts will resume at 1/9 on day two.
