Members, you need to practice your rain dancing to try and get some more of the wet stuff so we don’t lose anymore of our fairways. The preferred lies, though necessary for ease of play only increase the bare patches. Prodigious use of sand in divots will help, but lots of rain is needed. Country Club St George’s Basin Women
Friday 16th was an ideal day for our first par round of the season. Champion Deb Weeks playing off 6,showed her skills with a minus one to win division one. The count back was needed to separate Vicki Diefenbach from Judi Nethery , who was the unlucky one this time, on just minus 2. Division 2 was taken out by Myra Kara from Kerry Coulter, both all square with the card. Diane Mcivor was third with minus 1. Helen Davison was the only player in the field to better par. Well done Helen with your plus 2. Second in third division was Catherine Hayward with a square result. Good to see Catherine in the winners’ circle after her long, enforced rest. Consistent Jan Wong was third in that division.
