After losing their opening two-day clash to Bay and Basin at Sanctuary Point Oval, Ex-Servos have rattled off five straight wins and two draws.
A large part of that has been the play of skipper Daniel Gleeson, who is the competition’s leading run scorer.
Through the eight matches he’s played in, Gleeson has scored 350 runs at an average of 50 and strike rate of 140 – which included smashing 36 boundaries and 13 sixes.
Gleeson’s high score this season, of 141, came against North Nowra-Cambewarra, at Hayden Drexel Oval.
Sitting in second in the run scorers list is Bomaderry’s Nick McDonald, who has scored 315 runs at an average of 63.
Rounding out the top five are Batemans Bay’s Zac Henstock (308 runs), Bay and Basin’s Kyle Jarret (287 runs) and Bomaderry’s Michael Coulter (287 runs).
With the ball, the competition is again being led by an Ex-Servos player – with pacemen Nathaniel Jones leading the way.
In eight matches, Jones has claimed 21 wickets at an average of 10.95, strike rate of 20.95 and economy of 3.14.
Jones has taken four wickets in an innings three this season, with his best figures coming against Bay and Basin (4/15) on December 9.
Hot on Jones’ heals are Bay and Basin pair Liam O’Brien and Darren O’Keefe, who have taken 20 and 18 respectively for the Dolphins.
Rounding out the top five bowlers so far this season are Ulladulla United’s Aaron Wester (15 wickets) and Berry-Shoalhaven Heads’ Glenn Brandon (14 wickets).
The teams are back in action this Saturday and they will be looking to get vital competition points.
