Mrs Sudmalis, on the ABC’s 7.30 Report on Monday night, was named as one of three members of the Turnbull Government about to break ranks and and vote against the Federal Government in a renewed push to establish a royal commission into the banks.
Warren Entsch and George Christensen were the other two government members of parliament named in the report.
Mrs Sudmalis will not cross the floor.
“Headlines reporting that I’m considering crossing the floor are untrue,” she said.
“A political stunt like that would not deliver results for the people that elected me or for the people that have issues with banks.
“I will continue to work with the PM and relevant Ministers on this issue. I have done this successfully since being elected, and it’s my belief that this is the best way to get a resolution.”
