The verdict? It’s a hit. Parents couldn’t drag their kids away from the park, even after hours of fun.
It’s set up like a mini city, with intersections, roundabouts, stop signs and pedestrian crossings.
The project was funded by Shoalhaven City Council ($65,000), the federal government ($20,000) and Sussex Inlet Rotary ($5000).
Shoalhaven mayor Amanda Findley thanked Gilmore MP Ann Sudmalis and Rotary for their contributions.
“This facility educates children on road safety, provides enjoyment, as well as peace of mind to parents,” she said.
“The extra funding and support is very much appreciated to allow us to build something for the children and parents in the area.”
Young scooter rider Xavier Berriman said he likes how close it is to the jumps at the skate park. His sister, Sophie, said she likes how it’s shaped, similar to a road.
