Creative Moments is an annual exhibition showcasing the work of three local artisan groups – Shoalhaven Woodcraft Society, Nowra Spinners and Weavers and the Shoalhaven Potters.
This year the exhibition theme is The River, as it coincides with the Shoalhaven River Festival.
The exhibition launch will be at noon on October 7. The exhibition will run for three weeks from October 7 to October 28. Entry is free.
There will be many interesting items from talented local woodworkers, potters, and spinners and weavers.
Many of these items will be for sale, so it is a good opportunity to buy hand crafted, reasonably priced and unique local gifts for birthdays or Christmas.
A taster of items from the three groups is currently on display in the Nowra Library foyer until September 15.
The group has also been working on creating a latch hooked rug together. It has been a first for some of the members to work a project of its size together, but it will be presented at Creative Moments as one of the raffle prizes.
The Nowra Spinners & Weavers meet at The Maker’s Cottage on West Street on the first Saturday of the month. Friendship days are now held there every Saturday from 10am to 2pm.
All new members are welcome so if you are interested in these textile crafts, head along and join the friendly group.
Membership is $20 and enables you to participate in group activities with access to the valuable library, other relevant equipment, and always a happy chat over a cuppa.
