A P-plate driver facing a variety of serious driving charges, including high range drink driving, has appeared in court.

Jade Melville, 18, of Culburra Beach, did not enter pleas to charges of aggravated dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm driving under the influence, causing bodily harm by misconduct in charge of a motor vehicle, not complying with P1 restrictions on passengers, high-range drink driving and negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.
Court papers stated Melville was driving a Hyundai Getz along Coolangatta Road at Far Meadow just after midnight on April 8 this year when it was involved in an accident.
A female and male passenger in the car both suffered serious injuries.
Melville’s breath analysis produced a high range reading more than three times the legal limit, 0.165.
The matter will be back in court on October 3.
