NVC (72 points) leads the Illawarra Cycle Club (64) with the Macarthur Collegians CC in third position on 56 points.
Goulburn CC, Southern Highlands CC, Eurobodalla CTC and Jindabyne CC follow in that order.
It has been more than 20 years since the Nowra Velo Club has won the final club points section for the Joan Knight Memorial Shield.
With a win and a second placing in the last two races of the series, Levi Johns has moved to a joint lead in massed start/fastest time points, a position he shares with Goulburn’s Cameron Roberts. Richard Cartwright (Macarthur) is a close third in this classification.
NVC has six riders in the top 20 positions in the overall individual points classification which is led by Illawarra’s Jason Hogan.
The NVC positions are John Cullity (7th), Levi Johns (8th), Michael Berriman (13th), Richard Vitiello (14th), Nick Johns (15th) and Godfrey Green (18th).
The fifth and final round of the 2017 Southern Regions Interclub series will be run as a 50 kilometre handicap at Bundanoon on Saturday, September 16.
The Southern Highlands CC will host this event and the final presentations.
The Nowra Velo Club will return to the Braidwood Road course next Sunday for the second round of the club road championships.
