The event will start at 12pm and will involve special guests Mark ‘Spud’ Carroll, Rod Reddy and Kenny Graham – who will be joined by the Eagles ‘big three’ Sam Downes, Roger Kelly and Bob Stanford, who have played more than 1,100 first grade games combined for the club.
Current first grade coach Adam Bezzina was excited for his players to learn from these legends, who laid the foundations for the club’s culture decades ago.
“What we try to instil in all our players, from juniors all the way up to seniors, is that culture that you want to do your best every time you pull on that maroon and white jersey,” Bezzina said.
“Look at our first grade side this year, the majority of them are juniors who have come through the ranks, watching legends like this and being inspired to play first grade for the club.
“So it’ll be great for the current crop to mingle and exchange stories with these legends – I’m thoroughly looking forward to it and I know all the boys are too.”
If you are interested in the event, which is sure to attract the elite of Group 7, contact Graeme Dudgeon on 0412 884 320 or via graeme.dudgeon@mmj.com.au.
Cost is $60 a head or $600 per table.
