A Nowra woman charged with receiving more than $20,000 in payments from Centrelink to which she wasn’t entitled has appeared in court.

Kyeith Jane Matsen, 38, faces two charges of receiving financial advantage from a Commonwealth entity.
It is alleged Matsen received a variety of different payments, including single parenting payment and Newstart allowance to which was wasn’t entitled.
In a case brought by the Department of Human Services (Centrelink), court papers stated she received more single parenting payments than she was entitled between September 2011 and March 2012.
Papers said she provided incorrect information about her her employment with the Aquarium and Pet Warehouse. During that time it alleged she received an extra $1855.77 she wasn't entitled to.
It is alleged she received $9666.68 extra single parenting payments between November 2012 and June 2014, despite working at both the Aquarium and Pet Warehouse and Woolworths.
It is also alleged she received $8897.01 Newstart allowance between July 2014 and August 2015, during which time she was working at Woolworths.
Court papers stated she received $20,421.46 in extra payments.
Maximum penalties for these offences include 12 months’ jail and fines ranging from $6600 up to $10,800.
She has not entered any pleas to the charges.
The matter will be back in court on September 1.
