The Shoalhaven Music Festival will see students from Berry to the Basin celebrate singing and making music in schools.
The 12 participating schools each have choir leaders who train their own choirs, and then come together on two evenings to perform individual choir and massed choir items to the audience.
Proud parents, grandparents, and friends are set to enjoy this year’s festival. It will be held over two evenings, August, Wednesday 30 and Thursday, August 31. Different schools will perform each night.
Kathryn Raymer from Tomerong Public School and Shoalhaven Music Festival Committee member said the event brings everyone together.
“This highly regarded event serves to promote community participation and belonging, as well as working to develop the self-esteem of students,” she said.
“We can’t wait until our performance evenings, with musical support from Alfie Dallaway from Jervis Bay School of Music.”
Rehearsals have been underway this week and Ms Raymer said they sounded “fantastic”.
