So it was no surprise when local NSW Ambulance crews fronted for one of their regular monthly training days earlier this week, faced with pouring rain, there were no thoughts of cancelling the event.
Crews simply donned their wet weather gear and took part in the mock rescue scenarios.
Crews practiced road crash rescue techniques, using the battery operated German made Lukas Edraulic rescue tools.
This month’s training focused on accessing vehicles on their sides and roofs.
Seven rescue paramedics from across the Shoalhaven took part in the exercise, which was timely ahead of the long weekend.
Paramedics have urged motorists to again be vigilant on our roads over the long weekend, be patient and drive with caution, especially after the rain earlier this week and with more rain scheduled over the break.
