Of Welsh descent, Doris has been a long-term supporter of the Eisteddfod and in recent years has played a major role in maintaining community interest in Welsh culture especially through the Eisteddfod.
Over several years she assisted school choirs in the phonetic pronunciation of Welsh lyrics. More recently Doris has donned her Welsh traditional costume and recited the Gorsedd Prayer at the Opening Ceremony of the Eisteddfod.
Now in her ninetieth year, Doris is an active member of the CWA and maintains a lively interest in choral singing as well as classical and traditional music.
In presenting Doris with her Certificate of Life Membership, Eisteddfod President George Windsor OAM highlighted Doris’s enthusiasm and encouraging ongoing support for the Eisteddfod.
