Not content with bringing smiles to guests’ faces, guided holiday company AAT Kings is surprising Australians throughout the country with the launch of the World’s first Mobile Piano Bar.
AAT Kings has stripped nearly all the seats out of one of its luxury vehicles to make way for an upright piano and bar setting and is taking it on an unforgettable journey throughout Australia, bringing a whole new meaning to the musical road trip.

Over a four week period, from July 6-29, the Mobile Piano Bar will travel to more than 30 regional and coastal towns and cities throughout New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia.
The piano bar will visit:
- Armidale on July 20 between 10am and 12pm in the Beardy Street Mall
- Tamworth on July 20 between 3pm and 5pm at Bicentennial Park
- Dubbo on July 21 between 12pm and 1.30pm at Orana Mall
- Queanbeyan on July 22 between 9.30am and 11.30am in Crawford Street
- Griffith on July 23 between 9am and 11am at itravel Griffith
“We love our iPhones and Spotify playlists as much as anyone,” AAT Kings managing director Anthony Hayes said.
“But we also remember a time when the musical entertainment came from the piano in the corner of a bar or pub and locals joined in when they knew the words - and often when they didn’t.”
“We want to recreate that sense of community spirit and good old-fashioned fun with our World’s First Mobile Piano Bar.”
This is the second ‘world first’ mobile coach for AAT Kings.
In 2014, an AAT Kings coach was transformed into the World’s First Mobile Indoor Lawn Bowls Green.
Anthony Hayes said that while they want Australians to have fun, it’s also an important opportunity to engage with regional communities that don’t always get to see them.
“At AAT Kings we provide incredible Australian experiences for our guests every day and this particular trip provides us with the opportunity to meet with Aussies in many regional centres and share our 10% off Guided Holidays offer with them,” Mr Hayes said.
“It also allows them to see – or should I say hear – how we bring Australia to life on our holidays and in doing so I hope it encourages them to spend more time exploring this country.”
Pianists will be taking song requests at each stop and locals are welcome to come on-board, bust out a tune and meet the AAT Kings’ team.
