There is always so much to think about before leaving on your caravanning holiday especially if you are going to be travelling for a long time or over a great distance.
Packing for your first trip will take some time but make sure you write down a list to make it easier for the next one.
There are some essential items that should be included such as a fire extinguisher, wheel chocks, caravan jack, towing mirrors, extra coolant and oil, a spare fan belt and insulation tape.
It is important when loading caravans that the heaviest items are packed on the bottom of the van, in the middle, above the wheel axles.

Light items should be stored at the top, across the length of the caravan whilst medium weighted items should be distributed in the middle and both ends evenly.
Before you head off make sure your vehicle and caravan tyres are at the correct pressure and check that any stability devices are in place and working.
If it is your first time towing a caravan make sure you have plenty of trial runs before setting off on a big journey. It’s important to familiarise yourself with your new ‘home away from home’.
