“It took us a while to work ourselves in to the game, especially as their import was a guard and not a big, like we assumed,” coach Kerrianne Allan said.
“But we adjusted well and handled her great.
“The biggest thing with marking her is, because she is American, she takes an extra step, which we assumed would be called a travel but wasn’t.”
But despite the 65-61 loss, Allan can’t fault the overall effort of her side.
“I thought Olivia Patterson played great and shot awesome,” she said.
“And both Kate Denyer and Alannah Forde had strong moments in the game for us.
“But overall, everyone played well and I think when they come to visit in a couple of weeks, we can knock them off.”
