Patrick Reubinson founder of Bemboka Secret Cheese Society in Bega ran the training day which saw attendees create batches of Fetta, Halloumi, Ricotta, Mascapone and Quarg.
“Some of the girls came to our show, entered cheeses, were really impressed and asked if I would come and give them some demonstrations on cheese-making, because they want to put this into the show,” Mr Reubinson said.
“We have the Fetta sitting for about 60 to 90 minutes, we’re just about to do the Mascapone and they’ve seen the whey bread we made from the Quarg.
“It’s a great day.”
Because of the workshop’s popularity, plans are already under way for another workshop in September, which will see attendees create blue cheese and white mould cheeses.
“There are so many people who couldn’t make it today,” Mr Reubinson said.
“I expected half a dozen people, then they rang up and said we have 21, we have a waiting list of 11, plus another five or six who couldn’t make it.
“It’s bigger than Ben-Hur.”
