Firearms stolen in two break-ins

FOUR pistols have been stolen during a break-in at a Foxground home.

A Ruger MKII .22 calibre semi-automatic pistol, a Ruger Blackhawk .357 revolver, a Ruger .22 calibre rimfire revolver and a Browning .22 calibre semi-automatic pistol were stolen when the home in Free Selectors Road, Foxground, was broken into and ransacked between 3pm and 6pm on Sunday, October 7.

The pistols were in a safe along with an amount of cash that was also stolen.

In a separate incident, about 1.15am on Monday, a 24-year-old man was at his house on Cleveland Road, Dapto, when he was woken by noises inside the premises.

He called out before hearing the sounds of people running out the back door.

The man got up to see two men dressed in black getting into a car and driving off.

A check of the house revealed an air rifle and amount of jewellery had been stolen.

Police from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command are investigating both incidents and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Anyone with information about the thefts can contact police on 4232 5599, or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
