The heavy swells kept a lot of the boats tucked safely in their garages and those who ventured out were glad to have their feet back on solid ground when it was over.
Ollie Parrish won the juniors and the Berry team was runner-up to Ocean Beach.
February was the whiting Competition month where everyone tries to bring home the biggest whiting.
Mick Ziebell weighed in a beauty weighing .710kg.
Kevin Buchan won the Beach and the Estuary was won by Peter Gray.
Our two newer members won the Juniors and young Evie Goodger caught a large Bass during the comp hours carefully getting its weight recorded and then returning it back to the place of capture which earned her 15.3 points.
Ollie Parrish was runner-up but went on to win the South Coast Junior Beach and was in the winning junior team with Brendan Low.
Erin Gray won the Ladies in the South Coast Beach.
The March weigh-in was well attended, Darren Vassallo winning the Beach, president Craig Jeffery won the Estuary and Mick Ziebell showed plenty of colour in his catch in the Deep Sea section.
Trang Matterson won the ladies and the juniors were Ollie Parrish with a huge 93.1 points followed by Evie Goodger and Riley Masters.
March is our Pairs Competition and Gary Stephen and Ollie Parrish won with 158.2 points.
Kevin Buchan and Peter Muller missed out by four points.
If only Peter's snapper had not got away as a result of a broken hook.
Congratulations to Gary and Ollie on a splendid effort.
Kevin Buchan won the fish of the month with his snapper weighing 2.780kg.
Brian Rutledge came 19th over all in the Hobie Bream Fishing series held at Mallacoota and came first in the Grand Masters division.
Tameika Purnell came 74th and third in the ladies and Chris Purnell was in 66th place in the open. Ninety competitors entered the comp.
In the April Comp, the Beach was won by Darren Vassallo.
Estuary was taken out by Peter Gray, and Kevin Buchan won the Deep Sea.
Juniors Evie Goodger, Ollie Parrish and Bailey and Riley Masters were the winners of the junior prizes.
Fish of the Month was Mick Ziebell with a nice 1.150kg flathead.
The May Comp is on May 13-15 and tailor is fish of the month.
NSWFCA has a deep sea comp in May and the weigh-in is at the Lake View Hotel.
