The event is part of the National Water Week from Sunday October 16.
Shoalhaven Water education and marketing officer Michelle Murden hosted last year’s competition which received 66 entries.
She was hoping then it would become an annual event.
“With amazing locations such as Jervis Bay, Hyams Beach and the mighty Shoalhaven River to choose from, participants in the Shoalhaven Water photographic competition have no concern finding an inspiring landscape to capture,” she said.
The theme of this year’s competition is valuing water in the Shoalhaven.
All photographic entries will be displayed in the foyer of the Shoalhaven City Council administration building from October 15 to 26.
Last year’s winner, Nadine Cooper from Nowra, picked up the $500 prize and then went on to win the Australian Photography Society (APS) digital division, spring competition earlier this year.
National Water Week aims to raise awareness of the protection and conservation of water in our community, and by encouraging community participation we can all help to improve an understanding of water related issues within our community.
“National Water Week is the only nationally-focussed event designed to assist our community in taking actions that help protect and conserve water,” Ms Murden said.
