Commander Fleet Air Arm, Commodore Vince Di Pietro will lead a team of 12 who will abseil down 33 floors of 33 Market Street, to support the Sir David Martin Foundation.
The local team represents all ranks, from seaman to commodore, trades and both genders.
Commodore Di Pietro has a personal connection to the foundation, as Sir David Martin was his wife Sandy’s father.
Sir David Martin served in the Royal Australian Navy for four decades, retiring as a Rear Admiral before being appointed as Governor of NSW.
“The foundation does terrific work with its Triple Care Farm in Robertson in the the Southern Highlands giving youth in crisis a leg up when for any number of reasons they need some help to regain track,” Commodore Di Pietro said.
“This year is special, as it is 25 years since Sir David’s Foundation was established.”
The local team took part in the challenge in 2013, raising $21,000.
