The certified organic baby skin-care range has a dedicated market in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia and is about to enter Thailand.
With 90 per cent and about $600,000 worth of product sold a year to the export market it’s little wonder the products, part-owned by Nowchem, have been recognised for Australian trade capabilities.
Cherub Rubs operation supervisor Eliza De Paoli said the products are hitting the mark overseas due to the high regard for the quality of Australian manufacturing and the high standard required for certification.
“We are certified by OFC [Organic Food Chain], which has one of the highest organic standards,” she said.
“We are a trusted brand in the overseas market.”
The 85 finalists were selected from the largest pool of applicants in the 53-year history of the awards.
Chief Executive Officer for the Export Council of Australia said the competition was tough.
“Given the recent signing of Free Trade Agreements (FTA’s), now is the time to focus on how we can help build on Australia’s trade capabilities.”
“We need to take advantage of the market opportunities created by the North Asian FTA’s and recognise the success of those clever companies that are really making waves overseas.”
Nowchem’s Cherub Rubs will find out if they are successful when the 2015 Premier of NSW’s Export Awards are held on Wednesday, October 28 at the Star in Sydney.
