I VERY much enjoyed the State of Origin game with NSW winning 26 to 18. However, a question that I and many supporters may ask is: How does one qualify to play for either NSW or Queensland?

After some research, I found the following to be the criteria to qualify for either NSW or Queensland. The majority of your responses to these six questions will determine your eligibility for NSW or Queensland.
Which state were you born in?
In which state did you play rugby league for the majority of years from U6 to U18?
In which state of Australia did you participate in a junior representative competition?
From which state of Australia did you first play school state representative rugby league?
Did your father play State of Origin and if so, for whom?
I always thought the word “origin” meant “place of birth” but these rules give it a different perspective. Now I think I know why Greg Inglis is a Queenslander as he apparently has ticked at least four of the six boxes even though he was born in NSW. His family is in NSW. He plays for the Rabbitohs in NSW and previously for the Storm in Victoria.
Finally, a quiz for rugby league fanatics.
Which of the following is a source of Queensland Origin players, according to Denis Carnahan’s song, That’s in Queensland? Sydney, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, all of these?
A. Sloane,
Bomaderry.
