Huskisson made the journey to Gerringong Oval and were outplayed by a slick Gerringong outfit.
The home side got on the score sheet early when a good cross into the box was finished off well by Brad Boardman.
Gerringong furthered their control on the match when Boardman was rewarded a free kick shortly before half time.
He was denied by Huskisson goal keeper, Trent Streeter, who blocked the shot and followed up with another save, before a third attempt found the back of the net.
Huskisson coach, Sam Tooley, said his side didn’t play the same brand of football that saw them snare two wins in the double header last weekend.
“We weren’t sticking to our game plan so we made a couple of changes at half time.
“We had a better second half but you can’t play half a game of football and expect to win,” said Tooley.
Gerringong captain, Andy Lockard, said they were happy to get the three points in what is proving to be a very close competition.
“We controlled the game fairly well, we knocked the ball around in what was a pretty even match.
“We’re heading in the right direction so we just need to keep working and turn up to play each week.
“You can’t underestimate anyone in this competition,” said Lockard.
Lockard mentioned Brad Boardman, Riley Fernanda and Alex Bayer among his side’s best on Saturday.
For Huskisson, Tooley said 17-year-old goal keeper Trent Streeter was a standout for his side.
Brendan Hiriart and Adam Quinn were also in the best players for Huskisson.
Gerringong have United and Culburra in this weekend's double head fixture, while Huskisson will take on Illaroo and Manyana.
