Vynes elevated to top rank for the competition held at Wyangla Dam, charging into the final stages of competition for the season, taking full advantage of the Malibu wake.
Vynes has firmly set his sights on the title win for the season.
“There’s no holding back now; it’s coming to the crucial end and you’ve got to step up if you want to win,” Vynes said.
Vynes also picked up fourth place at the first round of the Australian Open in Canberra which drew competitors from across the country.
“The podium finish is a bonus coming in to this part of the season; it’s been a really fun time on tour this summer,” he said.
“I had an open mind for the first Australian event and was really stoked with my success.”
Operating his Shoalhaven based adventure sports business, Free Motion Sports, provides Vynes the opportunity to indulge his passion.
"The competition scene can be pretty fierce but I get a lot more out of my riding when I’m learning for myself or teaching others a new thing; the coaching is a really rewarding part of the sport for me,” Vynes said.
