Council’s road safety officer will be conducting various programs aimed at new and novice drivers, parents of young children and older senior drivers.
The programs include:
• Graduated Licensing Scheme Parent Workshop – offers support and advice on how best to deal with the recent changes in the licensing system;
• Log Book Run – provides young drivers and their supervisors the opportunity to participate in a planned drive which follows a route offering a host of experiences;
• Child Restraint Fitting Workshop – helps parents and carers of young children to understand the importance of correctly fitted child restraints in the car;
• Bus Program – a new program to encourage older drivers to leave the keys at home and get the bus will be launched in 2015 with the assistance of local bus companies.
