The event was scheduled for last Wednesday but with the forecast for wild weather the ride was postponed by 24 hours until Thursday.
Riders north of the city made their way from various locations before meeting in Nowra at the car park on corner of Worrigee and Berry streets to finish the ride to the naval air station as a peloton.
They were joined by riders from the east and south, who met the group on Albatross Road at the corner with Flinders Road.
Captain Bateman, who is the workplace ambassador for the HMAS Albatross Ride to Work Day, rode from Gerringong to take part in the event.
He was joined by personnel who rode from Gerroa, Berry, Meroo Meadow, Bomaderry, Cambewarra, North Nowra, Culburra Beach, Worrigee, St Georges Basin and Vincentia.
