If able to obtain 10,000 or more signatures the matter could be debated in parliament. Asked by the announcer whether this was just a “stunt” and possibly she could just walk down to the appropriate Minister’s office Mrs Hancock replied it was not and that she was there for her local constituents.
I would ask, if the local member wants to start up a petition then why hasn’t she started one for 24/7 policing in the Bay and Basin area?
Our member has advocated for a police station for almost seven years even suggesting we all read Hansard as to her requests on this matter. I don’t remember anything about starting a petition on this matter though.
To the Member for South Coast I say, as the announcer suggested, your idea for a petition is just a “stunt”. Perhaps after politics you might look for work blowing up those big balloons as you are certainly expelling a lot of hot air at present.
