The Mega Market will be open to the public from 10am until 4pm and will raise funds for projects helping the disadvantaged in our community.
The fund-raiser aims to bring the community together to celebrate Good Neighbours Day while raising money to relieve poverty and hardship in the local community.
“All funds raised will be used to support the two local projects,” Shoalhaven Antipoverty Committee Facilitator Judith Reardon said.
“Yard Assist - a volunteer project that supports elderly people and people with a disability who live in social housing to care for their gardens, and Nowra East Neighbourhood Pride which aims to create a safer and more connected community for everyone.”
East Nowra Neighbourhood Centre Nowra Mega Market chairperson Lyne French said a lot of effort had gone into the first market for the area.
“Everyone involved in getting this off the ground has put in a lot of hard work and are all extremely passionate about it,” she said.
“We think it is a great idea to have a market in East Nowra to benefit those who may not have access to transportation or have difficulty travelling to other local markets.
“We felt this area needs a market.”
The fund-raiser will include over 20 stalls selling items ranging from handmade craft items to bric a brac.
There will also be a sausage sizzle and coffee van.
“It should be a fun day for all the family and is a great way to meet your neighbours and support them as well,” Judith said.
“If you want to have a stall please contact us for the details.”
