The collaboration with House With No Steps saw 39 organisations congregate at the Bomaderry Bowling Club for four hours to showcase options for people with a disability.
House With No Steps service manager Shane Baker said the forum allowed people to explore other service options and provided an opportunity for the community to connect with people with disabilities.
“This is the second forum we’ve held and this year will be twice as big as the last,” he said.
“It’s great timing to hold the forum, especially with the changes about to happen in the NDIS [National Disability Insurance Scheme], which will be rolled out in the Shoalhaven by 2016.”
Mr Baker said changes to the NDIS meant those receiving funding would have greater options in where they chose to spend their money.
“This means they can choose which support services the money can be spent with, whereas before it was restricted,” he said.
Some of the companies attending the forum included Greenacres Disability Services, The Disability Trust Fitness 4 All program and the NSW Department of Education and Communities.
