Former local police officer dies in Sydney

SHOALHAVEN police are still in shock over the sudden death of one of their colleagues in Sydney last week.

Senior Constable Peter Richardson was in Sydney to attend a wedding when he suffered a suspected heart attack.

Past and present police paid tribute to the man known simply as “Richo”, who was a larger than life character, describing him as “a pleasure to work with”.

Snr Const Richardson had spent many years in the Shoalhaven, working with general duties car crews, as a shift supervisor, exhibits officer and handling rosters.

He was aged 45.

Details of Senior Constable Richardson’s funeral are yet to be finalised.
