A man has been rushed to Shoalhaven District Hospital with hand injuries after being attacked by a crocodile at the Shoalhaven Zoo at North Nowra.
The handler, believed to be in his mid 30s, was presenting one of the regular crocodile feeding shows at the zoo at about noon on Monday.
Shortly after the zoo's largest resident crocodiles, the 3.7 metre male known as John, grabbed him by the hand and dragged him into the water in the enclosure.
Spectators of the show looked on in horror, as the handler managed to get free and get out of the water.
He was treated at the zoo by ambulance paramedics and walked to the ambulance.
He was taken to Hospital with bites to both hands.
His injuries were not life threatening.
