Nominations are open for the new and improved Shoalhaven Business Awards.
The award nominations were launched during a morning tea at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre on Friday.
This year the awards will follow the format used by Illawarra and NSW business chambers.
The changes will result in fewer categories but will streamline the entry process into the Illawarra and national awards.
Shoalhaven Business Chamber president Warren Seccombe said the new format would allow for more focus on the finalists and winners.
“The Shoalhaven Business Awards has been a stand out event in the business calendar for many years,” he said.
“In 2014 we will create an event that will reinvigorate the awards and provide a fun and unique experience.”
NSW Business Chamber representative Margot Griffiths attended Friday’s launch.
She thought it was great to see the Shoalhaven Business Awards aligning with Illawarra and NSW.
“It makes it so much easier for the entrants,” she said.
Ms Griffiths said apart from the recognition, the awards process was a good chance for businesses to take stock of how they are going and where they are heading.
“It’s a good chance to revisit your goals,” she said.
Nominations for the 2014 awards are open until August 11.
There will be 14 categories this year.
The winners from 11 of those categories automatically become finalists in the Illawarra Business Awards.
The Shoalhaven Business Awards will be held at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre on Friday, September 26.
